Steilacoom Ferry Terminal Remodel Completed Opens May 22nd. Anderson Island Travelers Will Enjoy!

The ferry terminal in Steilacoom has been closed since January for remodeling. When traveling to Anderson Island you had to use the temporary ticket booth on the dock. As of May 22, 2012 this will all change for the better!

Steilacoom Washington Ferry Terminal for Anderson IslandPierce County is completing the half million dollar renovation on the ferry terminal. As part of the renovation the ferry terminal now will have WIFI access, ADA access, new flooring, larger office space and other upgrades. The new energy efficient windows will help to make the terminal more efficient and comfortable. Additionally the exterior of the building has been repainted (it looks awesome!) There is some new cedar siding, and there is a new entrance to the terminal.

There will be a ribbon cutting ceremony on May 30th. at 3pm. Many Pierce County politicians are scheduled to attend.

When you are going to Anderson Island take a few minutes and look around the ferry terminal. I think you will be excited and appreciate the improvements!
